OUR STAFF

Director of Scheduling

 

Responsible for the entire on-air product, the D of S governs the sound of the stations. With control over production, talent, work schedules, and program schedules, the D of S's programming objectives support the goals of the Broadcast Director. Director of training is also responsible for working with the DJs and help create playlists on the playout software as well as archiving past programs on the appropriate storage platform.

Director of Quality Control

 

Responsible for checking if the programs/podcasts/recordings to be aired are complying with the set broadcast criteria and copyright infringement rules. This position has to provide regular reports and evidence as to which music tracks have been used and how they have been used in programs. This is requirement by the online music licensing authorities. The activities of this position will be monitored by the College E-safety Coordinator.

News Director

The news director runs the news department. The news director assigns stories to reporters on staff, monitors the radio website and is involved with identifying the important news issues within the school community.

Sports Director

This position is similar to the news director position. Sports directors often handle the play-by-play

coverage of local and international college sporting events.

Director of Training

Responsible for training all station DJs on the use of the studio equipment and Broadcasting Operational Procedures. DJs are the ONLY people who are allowed to handle the equipment in the studio. D of T is also expected to develop an apprentice scheme, which will allow future DJs to be trained and used in the absence of current DJs. 

DJs

Responsible for handling the studio equipment during live and recorded broadcasts.

Director of Communications

This position promotes the station's image, programs and activities. This director works closely with the Broadcast Director to create on-air/on-site promotions and maintaining current advertisers. The Director of Communications is also expected to manage the members who will be responsible for the radio blog and website maintenance.
